On Tuesday, January 28, the Débaldérin midweek team played against Zetten for the fourth time this year. The match was conveniently in Wageningen, so there was still time to pick up the forgotten bag of team shirts. Once all the jerseys and newly ordered skirts had arrived—and after Anne fished a pair of shoes out of the lost and found (she had forgotten the key to her room)—it was time to start.

After nearly fifteen minutes without a single goal, Bart M finally scored the first one, only for Zetten to quickly respond with an equalizer. Fortunately, Tom put us back in the lead with a 2-1 score. However, Débaldérin’s attack didn’t flow well, and our shots just wouldn’t land. Zetten, on the other hand, created more chances and pulled ahead to 2-6. It could have been even worse—one of Zetten’s fast players (the one with the ridiculously bright yellow shoes) was awarded two penalty shots but missed them both, which was a lucky break for us.

We managed to score again, bringing the halftime score to 4-6. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to turn things around. Just as our shots finally started going in, the match ended with a disappointing 6-8 loss. Still, the atmosphere was great, and we even had some spectators! 😊
