Tuesday, November 12, we played a Wageningen derby against K.V. Wageningen. Unfortunately, a few players were sick, but thankfully, we still had enough players available. This meant we didn’t even have to field female players in male positions. In the first few minutes, we needed some time to wake up, but after that, we got into a good scoring rhythm. We moved well and created plenty of chances. Both sections contributed a lot of goals. In the first half, the opponents struggled a bit more with scoring, which allowed us to head into halftime with a comfortable lead of 14-6.
This lead gave us a lot of confidence. Since we had scored 14 goals in the first half, we set an ambitious target: to hit 30 goals for the match. With this goal in mind, we started the second half. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to score as many points as we had hoped. Our opponents improved their play in the second half. They succeeded in breaking through our defense a few times and scored a solid number of goals. Luckily, it wasn’t enough to surpass us, and we secured the victory with a final score of 21-14.
After the match, we celebrated our win and enjoyed the craft night at the Gcup event. Which in itself is a story for another time.
Yours truly,
Marloes
