Aangekomen op het sportveld in Bunnink kwamen we onze tegenstanders tegen, het enige seniorenteam dat er in Bunnink is, dus het was een interessante mix van oudere en jongvolwassenen. Dat betekende nog niet dat het geen geolied team was. We moesten in het zwart spelen, omdat de kleuren van Midlandia helaas ook rood en zwart waren, gelukkig dacht iemand daaraan.
De wedstrijd begon, het kostte ons een paar pogingen, maar we scoorden het eerste doelpunt, en het tweede, enzovoort tot vijf. (Hulde aan de familie Schreuder die ze er alle 5 in knalde.) We warren lekker op dreef, de aanvallen liepen gesmeerd. Het is niet zo dat we tegenstanders geen kans gaven om te schieten, maar ze schoten niet raak, tot nu.
Zij kwamen sterk terug en wij scoorden ook, maar zij haalden ons na de pauze bijna in. Midlandia kreeg maar liefst drie penalty’s, gelukkig voor ons misten ze er twee, dus het moet bitterballen hebben geregend bij hun in de kantine. We maakten de wedstrijd zenuwslopend voor de bank, in het laatste kwart werd het 7-9. Gelukkig wonnen we met 8-11. De eerste overwinning van het seizoen. Nu staan we gedeelde tweede plek met drie andere teams, dus we zullen hard moeten strijden.

Arriving at the sports field in Bunnink we came across our opponents, the only senior team there is in Bunnink, so it was an interesting mix of elderly and young adults. That didn’t mean it wasn’t a well-oiled team. We played the game in black because unfortunately, Midlandia’s colors were also red and black.
The game started, it took us a few attempts, but we scored the first goal, and the second, and so on till five. (Thanks to the family Schreuder, that scored the 5 goals). We were on fire, the attacks where amazing. It’s not that we gave the opponents no chance to shoot, but they did not score a goal, until now.
They came back powerful, and we also scored, however, they caught up with us after the break. Midlandia got three penalties, fortunately for us they missed two of them, so it must have rained bitterballen at their side after the game. We made the game nerve-wracking for the bench, in the last quarter, it was 7-9. Luckily we won 8-11. The first victory of the season. The first victory of the season. Now where second in the competition together with three other teams, we will have to fight.
